Education, research and community service at Kepler College are directly linked and feed each other. The prime focus of research at Kepler College is to find innovative and scalable ways of advancing the educational experiences of students with special emphasis on higher education. It is widely acknowledged that education in Africa needs transformation in order to produce a workforce that will serve as a base for a rapid economic development of the continent. Governments in the region have been promoting competency-based learning as a strategy to make education relevant to the continent. Kepler College aspires to play a leading role in this effort by presenting evidence-backed innovations through action research and community service on competency-based learning and scaling its practices to other schools through active engagement with governments and other stakeholders.
Kepler College also encourages its staff and students to carry out applied and relevant research in its focus areas including management, project management, business and business data analytics. We aim to leverage research in these areas to expand in parallel with the development of academic programs and impact communities through service and skills transfer.
We also relish innovative collaborations to seek and carry out impactful actionable research and community services. We focus on leveraging a myriad of stakeholder engagements and collaborations to build research capacity for our staff and across other higher learning institutions.
We measure our success in research and community service by the impact of our initiatives to tackle community problems and/or in empowering people to transform communities.
