Program Aim, Rationale and Uniqueness
Our BA in Project Management degree aims to provide capacity development for Rwandans so that our “graduates have the requisite knowledge and skills to support economic development and meet the labor market’s needs both in Rwanda and throughout the region (7YGP, 43).
This degree has been designed by a team of international and Rwandan experts, the majority of whom have worked in the Rwandan education system for many years. As a result, the content of our degree is highly relevant to the local context. It uses case studies from Rwanda and elsewhere in East Africa, and focuses on skills that are highly in demand in the local market. The competencies our students learn are assessed mainly by project-based tasks that replicate real-life scenarios that graduates will face in the workforce. The degree is taught by faculty who are trained in blended learning, competency-based pedagogy who work and live in Rwanda and understand the challenges and opportunities of the Rwandan economy and workplace.
